Mike made a fantastic job fitting my shotgun, he provides a very professional service within a friendly atmosphere.The work was carried out promptly and to a very high standard at an affordable cost, he also gave me a great deal on a shotgun that he purchased from me. I had already bought and sold several guns and was blindly blundering on, with my scores remaining constantly low and absolutely no improvement on the horizon, when I first met Mike.
I wanted some advice about another gun I was about to purchase (not through him) and he was perfectly happy to freely give me the time.

Mike is one of those guys where nothing is to much trouble.. I have just taken up shooting as a hobby and Mike has given me guidance all the way through. He is not a salesman, he is a Gunsmith who really cares about his craft, and most importantly his customers best interests.

I was introduced to Mike by a good friend of mine a couple of years ago, who knew that I was thinking of getting back into shooting, and so glad we met, I have found Mike to be a very good gunsmith whose work is first class, he is also extremely knowledgeable and will always give me the best advice you can get, and not just to make a sale, ie if he thinks the gun you want is not suitable he will tell you and give you a very good reason why, and yes I’ve taken his advice on more than one occasion (and glad I did), and will no doubt take it again, and on a more personal note he is a true gentleman, so if your looking for an honest gunsmith or just advice Mike’s the man, and no doubt he will find you the perfect gun.

Very friendly and professional service when ever I have needed some advice or work carried out mike has always been on hand to help.
I found Mike from a Google search and booked an appointment to have my shotgun fitted to me.
Mike spent time explaining the reason for the alterations required, and when I collected the gun he sent me a link to a video of his on how to practice and perfect my mount whist at home.
My scores have increased from around 50% to now shooting a consistent 80%.
The quality of his work is excellent and to say I’m happy is an understatement.

I wanted to write something in Mike’s testimonials after having some work carried out by him. I wish to say that it was a great experience meeting Mike and seeing him work. It’s been a long time since I have met someone so skilled and knowledgeable in the Firearms industry and great to know that the old skills are still being practised. Just a note to say that Mike,s stainless lifter for the Marlin 1894 rifle has transformed my rifle from a single shot under lever to a smooth and reliable piece of kit. Fitted straight out of the bag with no problems or fettling. Rifle is now as it was designed. I can thoroughly recommend the part if your suffering from the famous Marlin jam.

Not many people are that honest these days. A great old school gunsmith with a massive amount of knowledge.
Mike made our club 1894 Marlin useable again after months out of action with feeding problems. His after service with a replacement carrier was first class. He solved the problem immediately without charge. His engineering skill in making new carriers received praise from a skilled engineer friend who saw mikes work

Mike has helped me over the years with almost every discipline of firearms. From servicing section 5 pistols to help with fitting shotguns, centrefire barrel repairs, sourcing new firearms and hard to find ammo. He has helped me maintain all my firearms in top condition and has been invaluable with also helping me buy & sell. He gives a very fair price (certainly far better option than taking to a shop) and is also realistic and for with his fee’s and what he charges. He is a great source of information and can provide very sound advice for both beginner and more experienced shooters alike. His work is all very professionally undertaken and guaranteed. I don’t think there are many independent gunsmiths and dealers like Mike left around whom you can rely and depend on and have this kind of interaction with nowadays. I would certainly stand by my words here to recommend him to anyone who has a repair that needs doing or is looking to purchase any kind of firearm.
Started the season with a boundary shoot at my syndicate, thanks to your gun fitting and advice on practicing my mount I bagged 6 pheasants, only 14 cartridges fired. Thanks Mike ,onward and upward!!

I was passed Mike’s details by recommendation last year and have had all four of my pre charged and spring air rifles serviced and repaired by him. Mike is incredibly knowledgable and approachable and his customer service is fantastic, something that is hard to find these days. I won’t let anyone else touch my rifles now. I recently bought a rifle from Mike’s website and it is the first time I have bought a gun without seeing it, so I was trusting the conversation I had with Mike. I bought a secondhand Steyr SSG69 in .243 calibre some months ago (not from Mike Collins I might add)and had great difficulty in getting it to group shots in anything like a reasonable manner eg it could only shoot an 8″ group at 300 yards at Langport Rifle Range on 21st September 2014. Awful!! I took the rifle to Mike to sort out a “light-striking” problem with the firing pin/bolt and to improve the trigger pull. Whilst he had the gun Mike noticed that the barrel crown was somewhat pitted, so he very kindly recrowned it for me – working late into the evening to carry out this for me. Shooting a 15-shot competition at 300 yards at Bisley on 28th September I scored 73 ex 75 with 12 V-Bulls (V-Bull is 3.3″ diameter at 300 yards). The work that Mike did on the crown and trigger has absolutely transformed the performance of the rifle. I had been considering getting rid of it – but NOT NOW – it’s magic! Many thanks Mike – brilliant job!

Bought a gun from Mike for my 10 year old son on his advice. Good after sales service too. Also had a gun in for repair which was turned around quickly and has functioned perfectly.

Thank you very much mike ,i purchased a target rifle from mike early this year , i veiwed the gun first and found the stock a little ropey , mike agreed to restore the stock for me and a couple of weeks later it was done , to my amazement it looked fantastic,better than a new one, which complimented the action when it was fitted , i would not hesitate in recommending mike for a first class job to be done , in all an axcellent service, thank you again mike.
